Welcome to my videogame shrine! this is where I will post my favorite games and you can read about them!

Undertale is an indie game made by developers Toby Fox And Temmie Chang. And.. You have probably heard this one about a thousand times. "Undertale Is such a great game!" and now, You will hear it once again. Undertale is a masterpeice of a game. it gets almost everything right! story, gameplay mechanics, puzzles, boss fights, humor, drama, You know how it goes. Although if you prefer games with high resolution, like FPS games Then Undertale is probably not the right fit for you. I will try my best to help you get a concept of the game without spoiling it. Once upon a time humans and monsters were living together in peace, but one day a war bwetween monsterkind and humanity sparked. but the humans won the war and they seal the monsters Underground somewhere. fast forward about 100 years to somewhere bwetween the years 2000-2015. where a small mute child climbs a small mountain and as they reach the top they discover a looong hole, and this child decides to jump in the hole for unexplained reasons, and in there they discover that all the monsters have been surviving in this hole for many, many, years. as you explore the hole or as the game would refer to it " the underground" you meet friends and foes. and the way i just explained it might make it sound boring, or stupid, Dont be fooled. undertale is a game of mercy or killing. if you kill all the monsters you get the creepy/bad ending. if you show all of them mercy, you get the good ending! anyways, its a good game. but be warned, the fandom is highly toxic. I dont recomend fan games unless they are made by the developer of the game, Toby fox. Give it a chance! you might like it!

And you can't have Undertale without Deltarune, Again made by Toby Fox. Deltarune is not a sequel to Undertale, in fact they take place in diffrent universes. But I prefer Deltarune over Undertale. I'm gonna try not to go ham with this brief explanation but the story goes as follows: the teenagers Kris and Susie discover a hidden world in A closet in school. and it turns out that they are heros, and they are destined to save the hidden world they found. along the way you meet friends, foes, The most evil of bad guys, a very bad cookie shop, robots, and more. and the best part? this game is free on steam! Toby is selling the first 2 chapters as a demo to try the game out. the game isnt finished and there will be a total of 7 (or maybe more) Chapters. and Toby's drawing skills have improved from Undertale. and this game has a simmilar premise to Undertale. If you show mercy to all the enemies, you get the good ending! but in chapter two of the game, it takes a very dark turn. if you choose to freeze every single enemy in chapter 2 with freeze powers then.... well, lets just say manipulation is bad. but you can still spare enemies in chapter 2 and keep going the good route. highly recomend this game to newcomers.

yep! here it is! The Portal franchise by Valve. this franchise is known for fun mechanics, broken speedruns, great story, morons, and cake. on the surface this game seems simple and kind of bland but once you start getting into the later part of the games with the lore it starts getting crazy. the first portal game IS a horror game. and the second one is more comedy based. The first portal game has you playing as a mute woman classified as Chell. and you use the portal gun to complete puzzles and tests with a promise of cake. and once you get to the 19th puzzle in the game. it takes a dark twist. You see, throughout the entire span of this game you hear Robotic voice speaking to you. saying things like "Welcome to this test" or "Good job!" and things like that, and this robotic voice has promised cake after the 19th puzzle again, and again. but when you complete the 19th puzzle, this is when reality hits. instead of the cake you were promised, the robot tries to kill you by throwing you into a flaming pit. with a tricky portal shot you manage to escape the firey pit. and you end up in a unsettling, unfinished looking assortment of rooms. as you traverse the backrooms of the puzzle chambers, the robot starts making all these threats to try to get you back to the puzzle such as: "I'm going to kill you. and all the cake is gone." and other sinister remarks to try to get chell back in. eventually you meet up with the robot, and their name is revealed to be G.L.A.D.O.S the rouge AI system. and you defeat GlaDos. and thats pretty much the the whole premise of the first game. I missed alot of details in there like who wrote "the cake is a lie" on the walls or what apature sience is, but if you play the games for yourself im sure you will get a concept of what i mean. and also if you dont like playing alone, the second game also has a CO-OP mode! portal is avalible for nintedo switch as well! but if you have motion sickness then you wont like this game. there is alot of flinging through portals. and its in first person. anyways its a good game, I like a good horror game every now and then.

terraria is a good game. simple, hard, fun with friends, and pretty long. so far I've had 100 hours in the game and I'm still in the middle of it. the end goal of terraria is to clear ALL evil from your world, and to stop Cultists from summoning the final boss of the game, moon lord. and then the new goal is to just stop moon lord from there. and if even if you finish the game there is still loads more to do (optionally). you can craft the zenith after moon lord, 10 swords that are combined into one epic sword, or you can try a harder game mode, like expert or master mode, you can also download mods for the game for free! you can use the program Tmodloader for mods. I find that playing with friends or family is more fun then playing alone. but be warned, this game has some pretty horrifying stuff. I would be careful letting your child play terraria. the game rating is 10+ but it should be 12+. and yes the game does have witchcraft. I started playing when i was 6 but I was too dumb to be scared at anything becuase I didn't understand the game. but! none of that DOES NOT make terraria a bad game at all! you can mine, face bosses, craft armor or weapons, goof around with friends, PVP and so much more. Many people seem to say terraria is 2d minecraft. dont listen to those people, In minecraft they give you 4 diffrent colors of the same sword and one bow. in terraria you get exactly 100 diffrent sword variations, 69 diffrent armor sets, 33 diffrent types of bows, and 371 enemies, for 10 DOLLARS! minecraft is 30 bucks, or 40 if you want the"deluxe edition" and minecraft has Microtransactions. not to mention that in a minecraft update, you get one mob, thats it you're done. but in terraria you get about like 20 things per update. kids, terraria isnt 2D minecraft. thats all I can say. (sorry minecraft fans, I dont like.... mean to be ragging on you minecraft is a good game) Edit Edit: POST-MOONLORD BABY LETS GOOOO-

WARNING: this contains spoliers for kirby games, mostly over 5-30 years old! Be warned. kirby! he's squishy, He's adorable, he eats everything In his path, How could you not love him?? The kirby franchise is probably the most talked about game on this list, and for good reason! Kirby is a game that Looks cute but takes VERY DARK TURNS. I don't want to give you the wrong impression about the game here, yes kirby is cute and adorable and lovable and huggable, He's just about everything you would want in a protaganist, but the game goes way harder then you would think, through boss discriptions, Music, tone, setting, lore, bad endings, Take kirby 64 for example. the story goes as follows: Ripple star, a planet full of faries Is taken over by dark unexplained entities, which remains mysterious throughout the game. In an attempt to save an artifact that could save ripple star from this evil force, the fairy queen sends a small fairy, Ribbon, to ride away with this artifact which is refered to as the crystal shard. Ribbon rides off with it, but crash lands on planet popstar, where kirby resides. the artifact is split into alot of diffrent little pieces. and kirby, seeing ribbon, decides to help retrive these small crystal shards. but lets say you go through the game without collecting EVERY SHARD. even if you miss just one you are greeted with an ending that is terrifying. if you miss a single shard you are met with the bad ending. after defeating the final boss of the game, the dark entities, (or dark matter) leaves the planet it invaded. and we go to this shot of Ribbon, the fairy queen, and kirby + friends. the queen cant thank kirby enough, and kirby and his friends are sent off back to popstar in a spaceship. and this is where the horror comes into play. and we get this seemingly cute shot of ribbon waving at the ship as it leaves. and then. the fairy queen looks into the screen and has this evil, almost demonic looking smile on her face. and the game cuts to the credits. to the unsuspecting person they might think that the fairy queen was the villan all along. but alas that is not the case in fact it has much darker implications. you see, You didnt collect every crystal shard in the game and it wasn't enough too 100% drive out the dark matter. so the fairy queen is still possesed becuase there was just that one peice of dark matter controling her actions. this is scary for alot of reasons. it is implied that the queen kills Ribbion and takes full control of ripple star. what's so scary is that, Kirby isn't there. he is the only one who could save ripple star and Ribbon. but he has NO idea of what happened. he just goes about his buisness as if nothing ever happened. Now... lets say you do collect all the crystal shards, what happens then?? this reveals the true ending. it starts off as the same ending at first. but before kirby leaves, the crystal shard starts to glow and Zaps all the dark matter out of the queens body. and it flys away and creates a new planet called, Dark star. when kirby and friends see this they start to panic... BUT THEN. Kirby pulls out the kirby phone... and a warp star, (the games way of transportation) appears. kirby and friends ride this warp star to the new planet dark star. and kirby and Ribbion are both delivered to the True final boss of the game. Zero-two, and I am NOT making this up, A GIANT WHITE SPHERE WITH WINGS AND A BLOOD RED EYE THAT SHOOTS BLOOD AT YOU. what the hell?! This is a kirby game! and the boys at nintendo are just like: Hey! BIG idea!! What if the final boss was a bloody angel looking thing, that shoots blood at you?!?! and then the producers were just like: Yeah sure! that definetly wont give kids nightmares! Lets do it! Like what were the boys at nintendo thinking with this one! but dont worry the end is nice the dark matter is blown up, the planet is back to normal, and kirby is given an award. the thing that makes me go nuts is when somebody calls kirby a kids game, becuase like. You ever heard the song ripple star catacombs? trust me, you dont want to. lets just say things cant be unseen or unheard and leave it at that. the reason I like kirby is becuase its made to trick people into thinking is cute and innocent, And it is! but it has hidden meaning under the surface. AND BECUASE MARX EXISTS HES THE BEST LITTLE JESTER BOY-

Honorable mentions

Celeste is an indie game made by noel berry and friends. It's a game about anxiety and acceptance. I admit it has been a while sience I played it soo yeah. the story goes like this, (Don't- don't judge me lol): A young woman (early twenties) with anxiety and depression disorder goes to climb a mountain to solve her problems. thats the basic premise of Celeste. I would give more information but I encourage you to play the game yourself. The art looks masterful, and the story Is good. the reason it is only in the honorable mentions is that its so DAMN hard to talk about, like I'm a male so trying to talk to other people about it is an actual nightmare. talking about it also seems to suggest that you struggle with anxiety or depression. Like, I DONT WANT PEOPLE THINKING I HAVE PROBLEMS JUST BECUASE I PLAY A GAME LIKE THAT URGHHHH! its also a Very hard game to complete, and also I don't know anything about the celeste community but I'm sure its simmilar to undertale's in some way. this game On normal mode is so hard to complete it's one of the very few games that made me rage. but if you want a easier experience they have an easier difficulty other then classic. and the music is PHENOMONAL! its truly one of the best video game soundtracks I have ever heard behind some of the previous games listed. Anyways It's a good game, just damn near impossible to talk about, 7.5/10. also the game art on screen WAS NOT MADE BY ME! im gonna try to find the creator and credit them later!
